ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE@#To explore the therapeutic effect and mechanism of acupoint catgut embedding for chloasma in premenopausal women with liver stagnation.@*METHODS@#A total of 92 patients of chloasma in premenopausal women with liver stagnation were randomized into an observation group and a control group, 46 cases in each one.In the observation group, acupoint catgut embedding was applied at Ganshu (BL 18), Pishu (BL 20), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), also the surrounding acupuncture was performed at facial part, once a week. In the control group, vitamin C (200 mg per time, 3 times a day) and vitamin E (100 mg per time, once a day) were prescribed for oral administration. Both of the two groups were given treatment for 12 weeks. The score of chloasma area and severity index (MASI), the serum levels of follicular stimulating hormone (FSH), leuteinizing hormone (LH) and estradiol (E) before and after treatment were observed in the two groups, and the clinical effect of the two groups were compared after 3 months of treatment.@*RESULTS@#Finally, 44 cases in the observation group and 43 cases in the control group completed the study. The effective rate in the observation group was 88.6% (39/44), which was higher than 55.8% (24/43) in the control group (0.05). There was no significant difference between before treatment and in follow-up in the levels of FSH, LH and E in the control group (>0.05). In follow-up, the levels of FSH and LH in the observation group were lower than the control group (0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#Acupoint catgut embedding can improve the clinical symptoms of chloasma in premenopausal women with liver stagnation, the mechanism may be related to regulate the serum level of sex hormone to reduce high sensitivity of melanocytes to estrogen.

Objective To investigate the hysteromyoma treated with the gonadotropin releasing hormone agonist(GnRH-a)and the impact on immunologic function.Methods 130 cases selected from the patients with hysteromyoma enrolled from January 2016 to December 2016 in hospital have been randomly divided into two groups.The control group has been treated with mifepristone while the study group GnRH-a.Results The sizes of uterus and myoma of both groups have no significant difference before treatment.After treatment, both of them are significantly improved, and those of the study group is significantly smaller than that of the control group(P<0.05).The levels of serum sex hormone and immunologic function of both groups have no significant difference before treatment.They are both improved after treatment, and the study group is significantly better than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Applying GnRH-a therapy to the patients with uterine myoma benefits for improving the therapeutic effect, which can improve the serum sex hormone levels and immunologic function.
ABSTRACT
<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To compare the effect and differences sex the influence of hormone levels of perimenopau-sal syndrome patients between manual acupuncture and electroacupuncture (EA).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>A total of 50 cases with perimenopausal syndrome were randomly assigned into an manual acupuncture group (27 cases) and an EA group (23 cases), and 1 case dropped in the EA group. The acupoints in the two groups were Guanyuan (CV 4), Zigong (EX-CA 1), Tianshu (ST 25), and Sanyinjiao (SP 6). Acupuncture with 3-time small and even manipulation of lifting, thrusting and twirling was used in the acupuncture group, once 10 min. EA with sparse-dense wave and 10 Hz/50 Hz was applied in the EA group for 30 min. The treatments in the two groups were for continuous 8 weeks (24 times in total), once the other day, 3 times a week. The scores of 24-hour hot flashes even, menopausal rating scale (MRS) and menopause-specific quality of life questionnaire (MENQOL) were recorded before treatment and after 4-week and 8-week treatment, as well as 12 and 24 weeks after treatment. Serum sex hormone levels were tested before and after 8-week treatment as well as 12 weeks after treatment, including serum follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and estracliol (E).</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Compared with those before treatment, the 24-hour hot flashes even score, MRS and MENQOL scores were significantly lower after 4-week and 8-week treatments, 12 and 24 weeks after treatment (all<0.05). All the above scores after 8-week treatment were lower than those after 4-week treatment (all<0.05); and the scores 12 and 24 weeks after treatment were lower than those after 4-week and 8-week treatments (all<0.05); all the scores after treatment were not significantly different at any time between the two groups (all>0.05). Compared with those before treatment, serum FSH and Eapparently improved in the two groups after 8-week treatment and 12 weeks after treatment (all<0.05). LH levels did not significantly change in the two groups (all>0.05). All the serum sex hormone levels showed no significant difference between the two groups (all>0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Both acupuncture and EA can improve perimenopausal symptoms and serum sex hormone. The effects are similar.</p>
ABSTRACT
Objective Through testicular biopsy and detection of serum sex hormone levels in patients with azoospermia,to explore the relationship between spermatogenic function of testis,testicular volume and serum LH and FSH levels.Methods 80 cases of azoospermia patients adimitted from Jan.2012 to Dec.2014 were collected as the research object.Immunization method was used to detect the serum sex hormone leve,testis model was adopted to detect testicular volume,and routine disinfection was given to make testicular biopsy.According to testicular biopsy results,patients were divided into normal spermatogenic function group (group A),spermatogenic dysfunction group (group B),sertoli-cell-only syndrome group (group C);percutaneous sperm group (group D),and puncture azoospermia group (group E).At the same time,50 cases of healthy male were selected as the control group and they received sperm routine examination and sex hormone detection.Correlation between spermatogenic function of testis,testicular volume and serum LH and FSH levels were studied.Results Serum levels of LH and FSH had no significant difference among group A,group B and the control group (P＞0.05).Serum level of LH and FSH was significantly higher in group C than that in group A,group B and the control group,and the differences had statistical significance (P＜0.05).Serum level of LH and FSH in group D had no significant difference compared with that of the control group (P＞0.05).Serum level of LH and FSH in group E was significantly higher than that in group D and the control group,and the difference had statistical significance (P＜0.05).The level of LH and FSH was significantly higher in abnormal testicular group than that in normal testis group,and the difference had statistical significance (P＜0.05).Spearman correlation analysis showed that the spermatogenic function of testis was negatively correlated with serum LH and FSH levels (r=-0.473,-0.441,P＜0.05).Testicular volume was negatively correlated with serum LH and FSH levels(r=-0.643,-0.715,P＜0.05),and the difference had statistical significance.Conclusion The determination of serum LH and FSH levels has important clinical value for predicting testicular spermatogenic function in azoospermia patients,and can be used to guide clinical puncture and prognosis judgement.

Objective To explore the effects of anxiety-like behaviors on the levels of sex hormones and severity of erectile dysfunction(ED) in young men.Methods A total of 120 young men with ED,between the ages of 23 and 35 years,were prospectively studied,and all of them were the outpatients from the Affiliated Hospital of Jining Medical University from January 2012 to October 2013.Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) was used.According to the scores of SAS,the patients were divided into four groups.26 were rated by SAS as in the normal,36 in the mild,32 in the moderate and 26 in the severe state of anxiety.The levels of serum sex hormone (FSH,LH,PRL,T,E2) were detected by immunochemiluminometric assays.ED was assessed using the IIEF-5.Further,the responses were divided into three diagnosing groups on the basis of cutoff scores for IIEF-5.The relationship between the SAS scores of measuring anxiety,serum sex hormone levels,and the indicators for ED,Spearman rank correlations were carried out.Results Comparing with the normal control group,the levels of serum sex hormones (FSH,LH,PRL,E2) increased in other groups,but there were no significant differences (F=0.28,P=0.08 ; F=2.91,P=0.06; F=0.90,P=0.44; F=0.80,P=0.15).The levels of serum testosterone and the scores of IIEF-5 in the moderate and severe anxiety group decreased.The more severe symptoms of anxiety,the more likely that the ED would occur(x2=72.423,P=0.00),and ED was significantly positively correlated with anxiety(r=0.637,P=0.00).Testosterone played the partial intermediary role on the relationship between anxiety score and the IIEF-5 score.Conclusion Anxiety may contribute to ED through disturbing the sex hormone and lowering the level of serum testosterone.

Objective To investigate the prevention and treatment mechanism of liver-smoothing and spleen-srengthening formula on hyperplasia of mammary gland,we study the effects of it on morphology,histology,serum sex hormone and its receptor of rats with hyperplasia of mammary gland.Methods Sixty female Wistar rats(SPF)were randomized into 5 groups:control group,disease model group,the tamoxifen group,small dose of medicine group and large-dose drug group.Estradiol Benzoate and Progesterone were used to establish animal model of breast hyperplasia.Rats in different groups were respectively maintained with Tamoxifen,small and large dose of liver-smoothing and spleen-srengthening formula.Then changes of morphology,histology,serum sex hormone and its receptor were obtained.Results Liver-smoothing and spleen-srengthening formula could reduce the number of breast lobular and the expansion degree of adenovirus catheter.It also narrowed the acinar cavity.In serum of rats with breast hyperplasia,Estradiol(E2)and PRL were declined ;Progesterone(P)and Testosterone(T)were increased;FSH and LH were partly increased.Positive expression degree of ER and PR were inhibited obviously.Conclusion Liver-smoothing and spleen-srengthening formula can reduce not only the content of estrogen receptors(ER)and progesterone receptors(PR)but also their sensitivity to estrogen of rats with breast hyperplasia by regulating the serum sex hormone.Our studies suggest that it can obviously inhibit hyperplasia of mammary gland.
